The Fourth Webinar in the 2011/2012 FATANT Training Series has been postponed.

The new scheduled date is Tuesday 24th April 2012 at 8am. The postponement has come as a result of Adobe conducting significant changes to Audition in the next two weeks. Larry Jordan would therefore like to incorporate these new changes into the webinar discussion.

FATANT Webinar 4: “Audio Mixing” with Larry Jordan.

See the entire workflow of audio mixing a project in Adobe Audition. Larry will cover sending projects between applications, reorganizing clips, labelling tracks, spotting sound effects, adding tracks and submixes, adding and modifying filters, setting levels, and exporting the completed mix for final output.

When: Tuesday 24th April 2012 8am – 9am (Breakfast provided from 7.15am for those that attend at the venue)

Where: Members Clubhouse, Fannie Bay Racecourse. Just follow the signs. Can’t get to the venue? That’s ok, register for remote access and participate right from your office desk or at home. Wherever you are, as long as you have internet access, you can attend.

Cost: $30 to FATANT members, $40 for students, $55 to non-FATANT members.

Extra note: Attendees to the venue are able to bring personal laptops. These can be used to connect to the webinar via FATANT’s wifi connection for ease of putting forward your own questions to Larry Jordan. Remote participants will be able to ask questions from your own location.

FATANT, the screen industry peak body, has been advocating on behalf of the professional screen industry for several years. In 2012 FATANT is looking to expand that advocacy on behalf of the broader industry, and needs your support in the establishment of an enhanced committee.

The Film & Television Association of the Northern Territory (FATANT) wishes to announce its Annual General Meeting for 2012.

When: Wednesday 28th March 2012 – 6.00 pm

Where: Members Clubhouse, Darwin Turf Club or by skype / teleconference in Alice Springs

Nominations for Office Bearer positions are sought; Please be aware that to nominate for a position of office you must be a financial member (hold valid membership from Jan 1 – Dec 31 2012) prior to the AGM. Deadline for all nominations is 21st March 2012.

Positions include: President / Vice President / Treasurer / Secretary / Public Officer / Committee Member.

Voting Rights: Please be aware that according to the constitution only financial members of FATANT (with valid membership from Jan 1 – Dec 31 2012) are allowed a deliberative vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Call for Footage

Brindle Films, based in Alice Springs, are currently sourcing footage of George Rrurrambu Burrawanga (GRB, ex Warumpi Band) for a documentary being made for ABC1.  They believe that it could be possible that filmmakers in Darwin have material that has been shot at festivals, concerts or around town, and they would like to see what’s out there.  Brindle Films will pay licence fees for any footage used and give credits for the use of all material.

Brindle Films have also requested shots of Elcho Island or Bawaka (anytime from 1970s to today).

It has been noted that the film is being produced in consultation with GRB’s family and all Indigenous filming protocols are being followed, so people can be assured we will treat all material respectfully.
